Bridging the Future is a registered UK charity that helps young refugees and asylum seekers into education through a free STEM summer school and online mentoring. The website speaks to several audiences at once: students applying, volunteers signing up and supporters donating.
What I built
- Designed and built the website in Astro, with a clear route for each audience: Apply, Get Involved and Donate.
- Pages for the programmes, the charity’s story, news and contact, written to be easy to read for young people with English as an additional language.
- Performance work so pages load fast on phones: static pages, optimised images and very little JavaScript.
- SEO setup: page titles and descriptions, structured data, sitemap and clean URLs, so the charity shows up for the searches that matter to it.
- An accessibility widget, and a cookie banner that loads analytics and the donation form only with permission.
